I love this place‎
I go every year at least once. Traffic is bad but if you get there at 11am and stay there 30minutes after the fireworks you'll probably encounter very little traffic. This is a real amusement park an immobile master planned city-like setup specifically created for this one event every year. Check it out! The food is great, the entertainment is top notch, there is plenty to shop for, and the fireworks at the end aren't a bad way to end the night.‎

Traffic After Texas Renaissance Festival‎
The reviews of the traffic being very awful are true. We left the festival grounds at 5pm. Trying to leave before traffic got bad and only to find out it took 3hrs on 11-27-09 to clear the parking lot. The local police officers are friendly and they do a good job keeping the people from going nuts. All I can say is that if you want to brave the festival get there early when they open the doors, and leave a few hours after. If you wait to 4pm or later plan on bringing lots of snacks, drinks, and a restroom in your car to await the traffic to get out. Also bring your gaming console of portable DVD player and movies you really enjoy. It is true the traffic takes 2-4hrs to clear before you are on the road. Only 1 way in and 1 way out then you get onto a 2 lane road. You can have fun there but just know that the traffic is always crazy and do not make plans after-wards 2-4hrs after.‎

Big Disappointment‎
Traffic to and from is ill managed. HOURS are needed to drive-in and leaving can take as many as 4hrs. This has only gotten worse as it is poorly managed. Wares are mostly made in China crap. There are a few very talented artisans, but they are far and few between. This has become a place for the beer drinking mall crowd verses the appreciation of a historical period. I've attended many different renfests now for over 30yrs, the spirit has definitely diminshed and the fun mystique has been lost.‎

Love the Texa s Renaissance Festival
I have so many fond memories of going to this festival as a kid. The food was awesome... the best "steak on a stick" I've ever had. I hope they still have it. Also it was so fun to watch the bird trainers... absolutely amazing. ...

Fun.
It was fun, but not so much what I thought of! We did go on a really bad day, weather wise. So I think that made a difference. It rained and was very humid. Overall, it was ok. ...
