I brought my car in to have several things done, motor for convertible top, compressor and turbo. the car was supposed to be ready in a day and a half. it took 4 days. each time i was told the mechanic was having trouble getting the turbo installed. when it was finally ready, I went to pick it up and the gear shift was hard to move. I informed them before i left the lot. they told me to allow the parts to adjust to the car. the problem continued. this time they lubed the shift and told me to allow time for the lube to work. it would shift better after the car was warm but was still difficult when the car was cold after sitting for long periods. finally, something in the shift broke. I called the shop and I got the old"if we didnt work on it, it is not our problem". aftr going round and round with the owner, abraham, I was given the brush off. dont be foolded by the friendly service. the staff is friendly, but are like all other small businesses in this recession: dont want to spend time to fix something that they causes since they are not collecting new money. the problem did not exist when i took the car in, I advised them of the new problem before I left the lot, still, I have to end up paying someone else to fix it. keep looking, get a second opinion, get everything in writing or prepare to be aggravated. I trusted these guys. dont do the same. use their services for small things, oil changes or inspection stickers. leave the major jobs to larger businesses that have more to lose in reputation. the owner, abraham simply did not care stating that they never worked on the shift. truthfully, when that much work is done ona car at one time, other components of the car are affected. If he had simply acknowledged my attemptes to resolve the problem, I would have understood. instead, I got blamed because I was not in his shop everyday but instead took the word of his mechanic that the new parts needed time to adjust. dont trust them.
